Introducing: Audiograms for Metronome podcast landing pages

Create bite-sized versions of your podcast for sharing on social media.

Audiograms for Metronome podcast landing pages!

After a few weeks of development, I'm happy to announce that Metronome now has its very own Audiogram creation capability! And as part of our loyal user base, you're among the first few to take it for a test drive.

These audiograms are short video excerpts (MP4 format) that you can download and use for posting online.

First, some important points:

  • For now, audiograms are 15 seconds in length and are watermarked with the Metronome logo.
  • You can create an unlimited number of audiograms. You can even create multiple audiograms for each episode!
  • After creating audiograms, you can download them for use on Twitter, Facebook etc.
  • Each audiogram will be stored on Metronome's servers for a period of 30 days, after which it will be deleted.

Read on to see how you can start creating audiograms to promote your podcast on social media!

How do I access this feature?

Head over to the Metronome Foundry site and log in as usual. Once you've logged in, click on Tools > Audiograms on the navigation bar.

You should then see the Audiogram screen, indicating that you don't have any audiograms created yet. Go ahead and click on the "Create your first one!" button.

Selecting an episode

Next, select the episode you want from the popup menu that appears.

You can create audiograms from any of your published episodes. Metronome will automatically retrieve the correct audio file for you.

Selecting the audio excerpt

The audiogram creation screen is then displayed. Once the audio for the episode you selected has finished loading, you can click on the "Play" link to start listening.

You can skip around the track using the blue slider on the left-hand side of the screen:

Give your audiogram a title

Use a descriptive title, so you can easily remember what the audiogram contains. Hint: when you download the audiogram, Metronome assigns this title to the filename. Then, click on the "Create audiogram" button to start the process.

The following screen appears, indicating that your audiogram is in the queue for processing.

Creating the audiogram is an automatic process, and shouldn't take very long. Refresh your browser after a few seconds.

The moment of truth

Once Metronome has completed building your audiogram, you should see the "In progress" label change to a series of icons. Click on the "Play" icon to view your audiogram:

A popup screen appears, with your audiogram loaded:

Remember to download the audiogram! Just click on the "Download" icon:

That's it - a super-simple interface for you to start creating audiograms, and to better promote your podcast. Start creating today, and just drop me an email at faiz@mtrn.me if you have any questions at all!

Take me to my audiogram!

Cheers,
